Lebanese National News Agency – UNFPA Health Cluster Cluster – Yemen reported that a civilian was killed and 28 others wounded in a missile attack on a mosque and religious school in Taez, Yemen on Thursday. There are multiple districts in that district, and 12 of them suffer from a chronic shortage of healthcare. Health sources said that patients from the area were about to return to Sanaa after receiving treatment. Patients were brought to Taez City for transport to Sanaa Hospital and others were taken to Al-Umm al-Gailani Hospital. All of the districts suffer from a chronic shortage of healthcare and medical supplies. Civilian residents in Taez were alerted to air strikes in the area on Thursday. Al-Umm al-Gailani Hospital was attacked several times, killing several civilians in the past. On Thursday, a missile struck in the surrounding area of the mosque and religious school, which is about a kilometer from Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. The victims have not been identified yet. More than 100,000 have been killed and another 4.4 million have been displaced in Yemen, in what has become one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. Yemen is embroiled in a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Al-Umm al-Gailani Hospital is located in a residential area in Yabhouriyyah district in Taez City, close to a main road.
